NEWBERRY, S.C. -- South Carolina health officials say they have identified two probable cases of swine flu in the state and a private school headmaster says those are linked to a student trip to Mexico.
The announcement from the South Carolina health department says more testing will be conducted at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A state spokeswoman would not give more details on the test results.
State Department of Health and Environmental Control chief Jerry Gibson says the agency is asking sick residents to isolate themselves. He says the agency will ensure that those who isolate themselves receive appropriate treatment.
